How to get the game

Currently Moonlight in Garland is available in Early Access through itch.io and Steam

Installation

Windows:

• Download the exe or installer file.
• Double click to open and follow the installation prompts.

Mac:

• Download the dmg file.
• Double click to open the dmg file.
• Drag the app file to your apps folder.
• Double click to open.

(Note for Mac install, please make sure to drag the file to desktop/app folder before opening or else you will get a “game not found” error. There is currently not a way to fix this so if it happens you may need to redownload.)

Save Files and Updating

Locate your save folder:

Windows:
C:\Users\AppData\Local\MoonlightInGarland\(USER_ID)

Mac:
library/applicationsupport/com.moonlightingarland.moonlight/(USER_ID)

File types
Files are orangised per user by your user_id and save_id.
(User_id is Steam’s user id or a default 0000000000 for non-Steam players).

Save file:
MiG_SaveDataJson_slot_(SAVE_ID).sav

Debug log:
MiG_debug_slot_(SAVE_ID).log

User settings:
(USER_ID)_MiG_Settings_Data.json

Back ups:
When you save, your old save file is transferred to the BACKUP folder. Old full log files are also stored here in case they need to be retrieved.

Old file types:
MiGdebug_X.log – debug log
MiGSaveDataJson_X.sav – save file

MiGSaveData_Settings.json – settings file
( the X being the number slot you’re saved in eg 1/2/3)

Controls

Note that the controls are currently being updating based on Alpha testing, for the more up to date version, press H during gameplay.
