Managing Energy
Physical and Mental Energy
It’s important to manage your physical and mental energy throughout the day. Energy consumption can be effected by many things including Buffs and Rankings.
Physical Energy
- Walking, using tools and various actions use physical energy.
- Replenish physical energy by eating or sleeping.
If you run out of physical energy you will pass out and wake up at home.
Mental Energy
- Interactions, using tools or various actions use or replenish mental energy.
- Replenish physical energy by eating, sleeping or relaxing with self care activities.
If you run out of mental energy, everything will be slower and harder.
Check your energy levels in the hotbar at any time. The heart bar indicates physical energy while the moonflower indicates mental energy.
For the most part, energy doesn’t drain during cutscenes or events.
Sleep
- You need a bed to sleep.
- You can sleep overnight or nap.
- If you are dating someone you can sleep in their bed too.
Relaxation and self care
- If you look out a window in your apartment, you can take some time out to relax.
- In this area you can listen to music through your MP3 player and watch the world go by with no in-game penalty.
- Spending time here will give a mental energy boost.
Buffs
Buffs are temporary effects to your stats (prices, speed, etc). They can be added by wearing, holding or consuming regular or key items.
Buffs in the same category stack but same exact buffs don’t stack. eg. speed shoes + speed muffin stacks. But 2 x speed muffins don’t stack.
You can view currently applied buffs in your phone under Player > Buffs.

Rankings track your overall progress in various personal and professional categories. By completing actions in that category you will rank them up slowly over time.
There are 5 levels per category and every time you level up, new perks and buffs are applied.

Luck
Every day your luck changes. Luck effects many areas including harvest rates, spawn rates and sales numbers in small ways.
The first time you experience a bad luck day there is a short cutscene about stubbing your toe.
How to check your luck
Fortune petals:
- Buy a fortune petal from the shrine shop in North Garland.
- Use the fortune petal to check your current and receive a small luck buff.
- Fortunes can be positive, negative or weird and have corresponding luck buff attached.
Crystal ball:
- The crystal ball is a furniture item available from the Hidden Gems crystal shop.
- Once placed in a room, interact with the crystal ball to check your current luck.
How to change your luck
- Buffs from Petal Fortunes can change your daily luck in a small way.
